Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-17:30 Hours per Shift: 10.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Critical care experience Impella and IABP experience Experience titrating drips independently ACLS certification Description: The cardiac cath lab operates from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with 24-hour on-call coverage. There are 3 cath labs, a holding area for in-patients, and a radial lounge for out-patients. The cath lab has 7 Tech positions and 13 RN positions, including the manager. The radial lounge consists of 5 RN positions and 1 LNA position. The radial lounge is open from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The cath lab is equipped with OCT, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, IABP, Pacers, Rota, CSI, Opsens, Cath Works, and Penumbra. The EMR system used is Sunrise/Allscripts, Mac Lab. The patient population is adult. Typical procedures performed include left and right heart caths, drug studies, TAVR, TMVR, ASD/PFO closures, stents, angioplasties, atherectomies, mechanical thrombectomies, and the use of IABP and Impella devices. Candidates must possess an efficient yet easy-going personality with a good sense of humor. Self-scheduling for call is available, requiring one day a week and one weekend a month. Call starts at 4:30 PM and ends at 7:30 AM the following morning, with weekend call from 4:30 PM Friday to 7:30 AM Monday.
